The LUME reviews are in: ‘best fan we’ve ever had’
Heroes have a habit of arriving just in the nick of time.
In early July, we launched LUME: an ultra-quiet air-circulating fan with a gentle LED backlight. And just a few weeks later, the UK was hit by a stonking heatwave – with temperatures reaching a sweltering 32°C (90°F) in London.
That’s perfect if you’re lounging under a parasol with a piña colada. But it’s not so good if you’re stuck at home crunching spreadsheets, cooking for six or trying to catch 40 winks.

‘Without a doubt, the best fan we have ever had’, wrote one customer in a five-star review. ‘Love the light and the fact there are 12 levels – but it also looks so beautiful compared to the Dyson.’ (Hey, they said it – not us.)
Other reviewers praised LUME’s 3D air circulation feature: ‘It oscillates left and right (like most fans) but also up and down… it covers all of the room and does a great job of pushing the hot air out.’
‘Perfect for sleeping’
The biggest perk for Amazon customers, though, was its whisper-quiet motor. Even at its highest setting, LUME is never louder than an electric toothbrush – and reviewers couldn’t help but notice.
‘Silent and powerful’, wrote one – while another raved about the fact it’s ‘so quiet you can still hear the television’. ‘The low settings are perfect for sleeping’, said another, ‘as it still produces a large volume of air but is also silent.’
Meanwhile, over at Lakeland, LUME’s special ‘Sleep’ mode was winning over some new fans. This mode gradually reduces LUME’s speed until it reaches its lowest setting – ideal for those hot nights that turn to cool mornings.
Here’s what one five-star review had to say: ‘I have started taking it into the bedroom and using ‘Sleep’ mode, which is great – so I may have to treat myself to a second one for my bedroom too.’
