Strong, Silent, Hype: AirCraft’s LUME Fan wins Quiet Mark award
Who hasn’t dreamed of winning an award? 🖤
Perhaps you’ve posed in the mirror with an imaginary Oscar. Or pictured yourself winning gold in the Olympic long jump. Or fantasised about earning a spot in Guinness World Records (‘Heaviest train pulled with beard’, anyone?)
Good for you 🏋️♂️ – but here at AirCraft Home, we have our sights set on an award that’s a little more low-key.
It’s called Quiet Mark. And we’re delighted to say that LUME, our virtually silent pedestal fan, has just bagged this prestigious certification.
Here’s what it all means.
What is a Quiet Mark?
Quiet Mark is a certification programme that ‘technically assesses and certifies the quietest solutions to unwanted noise’.
It’s a bit like Which? – but for people who don’t like loud noises. If you see the Quiet Mark logo on a product, you can be sure that it won’t be distracting, annoying or unhealthily loud. Typically, only around 10% of products are quiet enough to win Quiet Mark approval.
The Quiet Mark programme began in 2012. Since then, it has certified more than 1,000 products, including floor cleaners, kettles and even musical instruments.
At the time of writing, LUME is one of only a handful of Quiet Mark fans available in the UK.
How LUME won a Quiet Mark award
The Quiet Mark certification process is complex. The organisation evaluates products by conducting specialised tests and ‘triangulating core performance data’. Apparently.
It’s big-brain stuff 🧠 – and if we’re honest, we’re not 100% sure how it all works.
But what we do know is this: LUME was created by some of the world’s smartest product designers. They had one goal – to create the best noiseless fan on the market.
That’s why LUME includes clever innovations like a high-velocity frictionless motor. This allowed our designers to ramp up the power without turning up the volume.
The results are easy to see – and hard to hear. Even at its highest setting, LUME is never louder than 60.2 decibels. That’s about the same as a typical electric toothbrush. (Yes! Really.)
We’re delighted with our Quiet Mark certification. It proves that our hard work has paid off – LUME really is as quiet as we wanted it to be.
But this isn’t our first silent rodeo. Back in 2019, our PowerGlide hard floor cleaner also bagged the Quiet Mark.
And it certainly won’t be our last. What’s next? Watch this space…
LUME is available now from all good retailers, including Lakeland, Amazon and right here at AirCraft Home.
