It’s official: PowerGlide is one of the quietest floor cleaners around
Noise, noise, noise. There’s just too much of it, isn’t there?
You’ve got roadworks on the streets. Chatterboxes in the office. Music blasting on buses. The last thing you want is more noise when you get home.
That’s why we designed PowerGlide to be as silent as possible. Even the best appliances sometimes sound like a jumbo jet full of jackhammers. But we want to make cleaning hard floors feel like taking a quiet morning stroll.
So, you can imagine our delight when PowerGlide was awarded the Quiet Mark seal of approval earlier this month.
Sure, it might not be the Nobel Peace Prize. But if you love a bit of peace and quiet, it’s worth listening up.
What does Quiet Mark mean?
Quiet Mark is an accreditation scheme that champions products and solutions with responsible acoustic design.
In other words, Quiet Mark-approved products are among the quietest products of their type. According to Quiet Mark, only ‘10% to 20% of the quietest best-performing products are awarded Quiet Mark certification’.
Quiet Mark has certified more than 1,000 products across 70+ categories. That includes domestic appliances like vacuum cleaners, coffee grinders and hair dryers, as well as things like forklift trucks, windows and even musical instruments.
At the time of writing, PowerGlide is one of only two floor cleaners with Quiet Mark approval. Three (quiet) cheers for that!
How PowerGlide won its Quiet Mark
We’ll be honest. Quiet Mark’s testing process is very complex – and we’re not quite sure how it all works.
But look at it this way. The accreditation programme began as an offshoot of the Noise Abatement Society: the UK’s number one charity dedicated to tackling noise pollution.
Nobody knows noise quite like Quiet Mark – so when its experts say a product is quiet, you can trust that they mean it.
What we can say is this: PowerGlide is designed to operate at under 60 decibels. That’s roughly the same volume as a normal conversation, light background music or an electric toothbrush.
A dishwasher, by comparison, typically hits 75 decibels, while a baby’s cry can reach a whopping 110 decibels. (No surprises there, mums and dads.)
Quietness is important to us here at AirCraft. We carefully design our products to deliver maximum performance with minimal noise.
That’s why winning Quiet Mark approval is such a big deal. It shows that our hard work has paid off.
And if you care about noise as much as we do, look out for the Quiet Mark logo when you shop. It might just be your ticket to a quieter, happier home.
PowerGlide is available now from all good retailers, including Currys, Amazon and the AirCraft store.
